Why Travel With Me?

When you join one of my hosted group trips, you’re not just along for the ride, you’re part of a small group of like-minded travelers on a set itinerary, usually sailing on a river, ocean, or expedition cruise.

While we’ll be sharing the ship with other guests, our group enjoys exclusive extras that make the trip even more memorable. Depending on the cruise line and the specific sailing, that might mean special pricing, onboard credits, private excursions, welcome get-togethers, or even behind-the-scenes experiences. Each trip offers something a little different, those perks are based on the supplier and the sailing, but the value and connection? That’s always included.

I’m there to guide you from the moment you sign up to the final farewell toast. So all you need to do is pack your bags and get ready for something truly special.

How It Works

Step 1 Choose A Trip. Click "Trip Details" to dive into everything that's included, from itinerary highlights to pricing and group exclusives. If anything's unclear or you just have questions, don't hesitate to reach out. I'm happy to talk through travel styles, or help you decide if a trip is the right fit for you. You can email me anytime.
Step 2 Fill out the interest form. Ready to move forward? Once you've chosen your trip and are ready to place a deposit, just fill out the interest form. I'll follow up to confirm availability, go over any final details or questions, and take care of securing your spot. It's quick, it's easy, and once your booked, the fun really begins!
Step 3 Pack your bags. Now comes the easy part, your spot is secured, and I'll take care of the rest. From confirmations to reminders, I'll make sure you have everything you need before departure. You'll also get an invite to our private Facebook group, where you can connect with fellow travelers, share excitement, and maybe even make a new friend before we sail.

A History-ish Escape

Join me , and my historian daughter, Melanie,  for a hosted, small‑group journey through Alaska. This 10-day adventure includes two nights in Denali National Park, a scenic ride on the Alaska Railroad, and a Holland America Inside Passage cruise featuring Glacier Bay. Along the way, Melanie will share stories that bring Alaska’s past to life. If Alaska is on your list, this is the way to experience it.

History-ish Escapes: Travel with a Backstory

Some trips come with a little extra depth, led in collaboration with my daughter Melanie, a historian with a passion for the unexpected. These itineraries are rich with context, stories, and optional talks or excursions that bring history to life in fascinating ways.

Melanie is a historian, archivist, and professor of history. She holds an M.A. in History from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and a B.A. in History from Shepherd University, and has over a decade of experience in the museum and public history field. Throughout her career, she has endeavored to uncover the average people of the past – the ones who usually get left out of the stories we often hear.
